And Stephen Harper's Conservatives are addressing this economic crisis. If you could remove your angry NDP leader glasses, you might notice reality once in a while.Should the Liberals decide to support the budget, Layton's dream of a coalition government with the Liberals will be over, and so will a rocky time in Canadian politics that has left some wondering if Ottawa is full of squabbling children rather than elected officials.
"I don't believe that's the case," said Layton.
"No doubt people will throw that kind of terminology around, but this is far from squabbling. This is ... a process that says we need a government that actually addresses an economic crisis."
If the budget passes, that won't be the end of Layton's challenges. In August, he will face a mandatory leadership review from his party. He's hoping his record will secure his job.I hope NDP supporters take a long hard look at Layton and replace him. Sure, he has been the loudest, most in-your-face NDP leader in a long time, but he's insane. Will no one else realize that his tin-foil hat is on way too tight? Maybe the dippers will this time.

You have to laugh. I mean, really. I suppose we could forget everytime Mr. Layton has said something and done the opposite. Then he would just be like every other politician that does that for one reason or another. But we havn't forgotten. Jack, be careful, before you join May in the laughing stock brigade.
The real question is whether Canadians really trust Comrade Layton?
In Toronto, he was always a joke. I think the last election said it all when he actually lost ground in Toronto.
NDP supporters won't dump him at the leadership review, but will after the next election because he had hit his peak. He also gambled with the coalition scheme, but they fumbled it, just like the economy if they would have gained power. He actually believed his own spin and got way too arrogant just like Dion & May talking about senate seats & cabinet seats even before they brought down the government -- a true legend in his own mind.
Comrade Jack will be relegated to being a campaign blip just like Ed Broadbent and they will be relegated back to the 10-20 seat range. The Liberals will regain some of their seats lots to the NDP with Iggy.

My question is, when did Jack ever trust anyone, other than Jack?
Every election ever fought in the future will always have to consider a hidden coalition agenda that was never campaigned for as a collective body to the electorate, and suspicions will be far more glaring for a coup.
This will help Harper in the next campaign if he can fold it all together, and the economy doesn't tank too much.
A vote for the NDP is a vote for The Coalition.
We have now a two party system. You can vote Conservative or you can vote "coalition" and weasel words from the usual suspects will not change that fact. This voter wants an election, this Country needs to move forward under the leadership of PM S Harper.
